How embarrasing...

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted... I am sure no one is reading this anymore now that I have completely abandoned my responsibilities/new year's resolution.

Things are going really well... I have three weeks until graduation, so there is a reason for my silence, but no excuses!

So here is a recap of the last 6 weeks:

After 2 years, I finally got a car of my own!!!

Julie and Adam welcomed "lil squirt" Dylan into their family

We went to Seattle with my parents, where I had the most amazing sandwich in the entire world.

Doug sold his house, and all his furniture... have you ever tried to move a stackable washer-dryer??

And SINCE this blog is supposed to be about wedding planning...
OUR SAVE THE DATES WENT OUT!!!! (Lovingly addressed by Kelley and stamped with the help of Rachel and Kyndal). They are awesome... totally what I had hoped they would be. Muchos Gracias to Asa at Inky Livie for her patience and attention to detail.

It has been awesome... I have the best group of people around me right now. I just have to get through three more weeks and I will have the whole summer to plan/travel/dream/nap... and cut some hair!

From Snippet and Ink

Ok, so I died laughing when I saw this photo on Snippet and Ink today... soooo awesome. These are the kind of photos I want to remember my special day with. Nothing contrived, no posing. PERFECT.

Repost from iDIY

Not sure exactly how long this idea has been around, but this post from iDIY (one of my all time favorite blogs) has some killer ideas for using Japanese Masking Tape.

So this stuff looks super cool and can be used for just about anything, and it is relatively inexpensive. So that got me thinking about the jars I have been collecting for our centerpieces...
maybe this

plus this

could equal something perfect???

So I just ordered some tape... wish me luck. I will post the results in a few weeks. Unless they are disaster-asaurus.

xoxo

J'adore...

I am checking in post-midterms (gasp...) to post an update about our invitations and save-the-dates.

We found inkylivie on Etsy and it has been one of the best vendor decisions we have made so far (bee-sides our fab WC, Jennifer-- more on her to come later).

inkylivie (Asa) is amazing... super patient, flexible, and totally creative. She listened (endlessly) to all my ideas, and the stuff she came up with was so much better than anything I had imagined.

The Save-The-Dates arrived this weekend, and they are by far the cutest things I have ever seen (I happen to think they are the best things she has ever designed, but I may be a little biased. Or a lot biased).

While I can't unveil our invites and things yet... (I will post pictures as soon as they are sent out) I wanted to show off Inky Livie's incredible talents and post some of my favorites from her Etsy shop.

These are similar to our invitations, I love the peonies and the font. So sweet for a garden wedding in April.

These are perfect for a beach theme or destination wedding, so much cuter than sand and starfish...

Fabulous-- esp for a more modern wedding (or an Indian wedding... which are the coolest ever)

Thank you Asa, you have made my paper-cuteness dreams come true!

Need Advice...

So our first wedding gift (something from our registry) came to The Man's house today. He sent me a cryptic email...

him: "what is the etiquette with weddings gifts? Should I wait for you so we can open it together?" (Awww, I know, so sweet right?)

me: "Heck no! Open it! EEEEEE! I love goodies!!"

5 minutes later...

him: you ok?

So this is my problem. I feel really weird about the gift. Now, don't get me wrong, I LOVE presents! I am as opportunistic as they come. But, for some reason this feels awkward. Like that year I bullied my parents into getting me that one gift that I really really really wanted and then... well after you open it you feel a little shameful. Shameful for being demanding, being childish, I don't know how else to explain it. I absolutely love what we got (obvs because we picked it out). Did anyone else out there feel this way when the wedding gifts arrived?
