I wish I had been better at this. BUT it was very therapeutic and I promise ALL the wedding photos will hit here first...

In the meantime here is a quick recap
1) Invitations went out...

2) The "pre-moon" was fantastic

3) I started my VISTA year... finally I have my own cube

4) and the favors are almost complete!! (Thank you Laurie, Kipp, and Kiko!)

That's all for now... 7 more days!

Peppermint Cloud Boutonnieres

Check these cute (er cool if they are for a guy) things... Peppermint Cloud is one of my favorite etsy obsessions. Here are some shots of the adorableness

They are made out of fabric (obvs) because what groom doesn't want to keep his boutonniere to admire forever?! Also, at around $25 a piece, they are around the same price as real flowers. When the florist suggested either a) a yellow calla lily or b) a white rose bud, I was ready to find something on my own.

Peppermint Cloud also makes gorgeous veils and headpieces. I wasn't planning on wearing a veil, but this one is making me reconsider.

Rose Bowl Flea Market

Major thank you to Kiko for schlepping all the way to Pasadena with me to hunt for hankies and other vintage regalia...

It was super hot... and the market is HUGE!!! We spent the entire day there and only saw about 1/3 of the vendors.

everything from vintage aprons...

to hats...

hot dogs...

this amazing aynsley china set was in perfect condition and only $50

I love these old telephone pole insulator cap things... cant remember their proper name but a vendor was selling the entire set for $40

these antique seltzer jars would look super cool on a tablescape

so much incredible furniture

we found over 50 champagne glasses for $100

I will post pictures of all the linens and hankies we found once they get out of their oxyclean bath and are washed and pressed. They were all a bit dingy (obvs) but I expect them to make a full recovery and be just fabulous as our decor.

Eyelash Extentions = Fantastico!!!!

Massive thanks to my girlfriend and jill-of-all-trades Joann for practicing her mad lash application skills on me. I wasn't so sure about semi permanent glue on your eyeballs, but they are amazing. I am not wearing any makeup at all. They are so awesome that the man even said something to me the next morning. He said, wow, it looks like you still have makeup on. I will take that as a compliment. They are definitely being applied for the wedding. (Just ignore the sunburnt nose and freckled cheeks, its just false eyelashes and not an extreme makeover).

Wedding Planning Tip #233454

ok, so at this point, I am starting to accumulate all the good advice I have gotten about wedding planning, as well as light bulb moments I am having along the way. I must say, the #1 thing I here the most from brides is that the day goes by so fast, you miss so much, and you barely get to eat anything, etc. Which I can totally imagine, as it is 9 months of planning for one freaking day. So, my plan for the next three months is to absolutely relish in every single detail, every single moment of wedding planning and absolutely enjoy it all. Because it would be such a bummer to stress and gnash teeth during the entire planning process and then not even get to soak up all the details... SO I AM SOAKING IN THEM GOSH DARNIT!!!!!!

The whirlwind wedding planning trip up the coast was so full of mother daughter giggles and massive grins that I spent all day today in my PJ's. It was just too much fun. We met with the caterers, who are absolutely rad (more info here). Lets just say the menu is orgasmic, and includes grilled cheese sandwiches and churros. Srsly. Next, we headed inland with my godmother for dinner and girl talk. It was really nice to get advice from my mom(s) who have both stayed married for 30+ years. Finally we visited the venue again (still as romantic and perfect as I remembered) and the florist, who will rock.

As a wedding graduate on APW put it,
"The Wedding Angels look down and say, 'Poor baby, you need to calm it down.' And you do, because you realize what Grammy told you is true: All you need is the man, the preacher and the dress."

AMEN.
